The public OAuth endpoint is enabled for connection testing. Grok web has reached the authentication step; account connection and a complete hire-to-result flow are still being verified. Grok Bot desktop is a separate host and remains unverified. For an established setup path, use a supported local agent.
CrowdListen’s hiring connection is designed to work through your conversation: find an expert, review the scope and price, explicitly approve the work, and retrieve its saved result. Rich ChatGPT cards are not required for this flow.

Connect on grok.com

You need a CrowdListen account with workspace access and a Grok account with custom connector access. Signing into Grok alone does not connect CrowdListen.
  1. On grok.com, open Plugins, choose New Connector, then Custom.
  2. Name it CrowdListen and enter:
  3. Choose Add Connector. Grok discovers OAuth automatically and opens an authentication popup. Each person connects their own CrowdListen account.
  4. Complete CrowdListen sign-in in the popup, review access, and choose Connect agent. The published Grok web callbacks are configured; never paste account tokens into the connector form.
  5. Confirm CrowdListen is connected in Plugins, then run the check below in a new conversation.
For Grok Bot desktop, use Connect apps → Add → Remote HTTPS where available. Its callback and account connection require separate verification. Team setup may require an administrator. A Command integration runs on the bot’s execution computer and is a different setup. Do not copy a teammate’s account session into a shared bot.

Check the connection

Start with a free read:
Confirm the account, workspace, and live expert availability returned by CrowdListen. A successful website login or a tool list alone does not prove account access. The hiring connection exposes expert tools; it does not promise every tool from the full local harness.

Hire your first expert

If no available expert supports the request, choose a supported task before approving anything.
  1. Review the deliverable, sources, scope, limits, and maximum charge in the quote.
  2. Explicitly approve that exact work order when you are ready. If the scope or price changes, review a new quote.
  3. Keep the returned task ID. Check progress using that ID instead of starting another task after an interrupted response.
  4. Open a fresh conversation with CrowdListen attached and ask it to retrieve the same task and saved result.
  5. Inspect the deliverable, cited sources, available artifacts, and recorded usage or receipt.
Connecting grants access within your account and workspace permissions. It does not approve spending, extend workspace membership, or grant another user access to your private results. See hiring and running experts for the full lifecycle.

Disconnect

Disconnect or remove CrowdListen in Grok’s Plugins settings (or Grok Bot’s connected-app settings). Follow the host’s revocation flow where offered, then verify that a new conversation can no longer access CrowdListen. Detaching an app from a single conversation may leave its account connection active. CrowdListen’s Personal agent connections list currently manages the separate read-only connection, not this hiring OAuth connection. Disconnecting does not cancel a running expert task. Request cancellation separately and check its status.

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication popup does not open: try the same setup in a browser that allows the sign-in popup. Do not substitute a copied account token.
  • No custom connector or Remote HTTPS option: check the bot type, desktop setup, and team permissions. Do not replace OAuth with a copied account token.
  • Callback rejected: CrowdListen must allow the exact callback displayed by Grok. Share that URL and the error with CrowdListen, without tokens or authorization codes. Do not guess a callback.
  • OAuth discovery fails: check the exact public URL; protected staging endpoints are not installable app URLs.
  • Connected but unavailable in the chat: attach the app to that conversation and repeat the free check. Confirm the connected account and workspace.
  • A task response is interrupted: ask for status using its existing task ID. Do not approve a duplicate task to recover the result.
